Even for those who are relatively new to Internet marketing, the phrase "resale rights" has probably popped up a time or two. Often times it has been touted as one of the greater and simpler methods of making money online. But for those who have either no or limited exposure to resale rights strategies, the concept may seem somewhat muddled and confusing. Fortunately, much of the mess can be sorted out by looking at two common aspects of resale marketing: basic resale rights and Full Resale Rights.
Basic resale rights for a product are, more or less, exactly what they appear to be. Once a marketer has the rights, he or she can then take that product and sell, or rather resell, it to new customers. Because the marketer now owns the resale rights, he or she will also be able to reap any and all profits generated through his or her sales.
This much of the equation is pretty well understood. However, as soon as additional terminology and concepts enter the picture, many people start to lose track of what is happening. In many cases, this occurs when additional levels of resale rights are introduced.
Master Resale rights, often just known as Full Resale Rights, are the best example of this. Like basic rights, the owner is permitted to sell the product to customers and take whatever profits are generated. However, these rights also carry additional flexibility. Not only are marketers able to sell the product itself, they can also sell the resale rights. By owning the Full Resale Rights, marketers are granted a higher degree of control over the product itself, and you are even granted some additional leverage in selling the product. Most obviously, by targeting consumers interested in resale rights, it is certainly possible to make additional sales at higher prices. Of course, selling these products isn't the only option. Many marketers buy Full Resale Rights for the purposes of giving products away as incentives or bundling them with other e-books and software to further entice potential customers. And because the price of these rights can easily be recouped, this has become a very feasible strategy. So, as you can see, a great deal of the confusion surrounding resale rights can be cleared up simply by addressing the basic principles surrounding them. From this, it is also clear to see why Internet marketers are jumping on the ever-expanding resale rights bandwagon.
